Comics This Week

Actually, for last week and the week before.
“The Legend of Grimjack” (John Ostrander, Tim Truman)
A classic, or so I heard. So far so good. Ostrander and Truman have always impressed with their pseudo-Western horror, and this provides a look into their early work (early 80′s).
“Bill & Ted’s Most Excellent Adventures, Vol. 1” (Evan Dorkin)
Reprint of the Bogus Journey movie adaptation and the comic series’ first couple of issues. Totally non-non-non-non-non-heinous!
“Fables Vol. 5: The Mean Seasons” (Bill Willingham)
Home to precious scenes such as one with birds talking to newborns: “Say mama! Say dada!”, “Say shitfire and damnation!” My favourite current Vertigo series (Y: The Last Man closely behind, and 100 Bullets when I can remember/understand everything that’s gone on in the last seven volumes).
“Seamonsters & Superheroes Volume 1” (SLG Publishing)
Bizarre! But very fun.
